Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival Walkthrough

Story Walkthrough for Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival. Follow verified story stages, prerequisites and completion markers, with spoilers and demo differences clearly marked.

Main-route objective order and 100% completion scope for the October 8, 2026 release build. Collectible counts and missable status follow the published completion reference; the five Genesis Configuration puzzles are solved on the puzzle help page.

Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival has no traditional chapters. You finish the story by working through the objectives in order: the Prologue, Escape from the Scarlet Church Part 1 and Part 2, Take Back the Genesis Configuration, Escape Charlotte, Free Sunny's Soul, Exit the Labyrinth, and finally Open the Gate to Charlotte Part 1. The Objectives menu is the only reliable marker of where you are.

Because there is no Chapter Select and leaving an area closes it, the collectible counts matter as much as the order: 5 Firearms, 12 Crafting Recipes, 5 Pain Pillars and 5 Suffering Pillars all have to be taken on your first pass. The free Steam demo stops after Part 1 of the Scarlet Church and is covered on the demo walkthrough page.

How progress works without chapters

Progress is tracked through objective titles rather than numbered chapters, and the Objectives menu is the only in-game place that names the objective you are on. Your save file repeats the higher-level objective, so either location tells you where the route has reached.

Published guides for this game take their headings from those objective titles, which is why the stage names in the next section should read the same as the entry in your own menu.

Main objective order

Run the objectives in the order below. The Area and Encounters columns are there to help you recognise where you are, not to replace the per-stage steps that the linked pages carry.

Demo boundary: the free Steam demo covers the Prologue and Escape from the Scarlet Church Part 1 only. Demo progress does not carry over to the full game, so treat it as a trial rather than the first leg of this route.

The published objective list leaves the Area and Encounters fields empty for Free Sunny's Soul. This page does not assign it a location or an encounter; the objective sits between Escape Charlotte and Exit the Labyrinth.

What 100% completion requires

Four collectible sets are tied to the completion trophies and achievements. Together they are the only pickups you have to track for a full run.

  • 5 Firearms — the set behind the Guns, Lots of Guns completion.
  • 12 Crafting Recipes — the largest set, and the easiest one to lose track of.
  • 5 Pain Pillars — health artefacts.
  • 5 Suffering Pillars — Suffering artefacts.

Notes and Documents are not part of any trophy or achievement set; they only add lore, so a missed note costs you context rather than completion.

Crafting materials are limited and the game keeps no record of which recipes you have already made, so write each one down as you craft it. Spending materials on the same recipe twice can leave you short of the full set.

Missable items and points of no return

Every collectible is missable. There is no Chapter Select, and once you leave an area you cannot return to it, so each item has to be collected on the first visit.

Point of no return: clear an area of its items before you trigger the objective that moves you on. A missed pickup costs a fresh run, not a quick replay of one section.

In practice that means sweeping a room as soon as you enter it and checking the four sets above before you follow the objective marker onwards.

Genesis Configuration puzzles

The game contains five Genesis Configuration puzzles. None of them are missable, so they do not need the same care as the collectibles, but they do gate route progress: a box that will not open is usually a missing step rather than a missed item.

The box abilities themselves, including when each one unlocks, are described on the Genesis Configuration page, and the puzzle steps are collected on the puzzle help page.

Where to look when you are stuck

This page is a route map. Detailed steps, enemy behaviour and collectible conditions live on the pages below, so start with the one that matches the problem.

Frequently asked questions

How do I tell which objective I am on?

Open the Objectives menu. It lists the title of the objective you are currently working on, and your save file repeats the higher-level objective.

Can I go back for items I missed?

No. The game has no Chapter Select and leaving an area closes it, so a missed collectible has to be picked up on a fresh run.

Do Notes and Documents count toward 100%?

No. They only add lore. The sets tied to completion are the firearms, crafting recipes, pain pillars and suffering pillars.
