Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival Weapons & Upgrades

Compare confirmed weapons, acquisition requirements and upgrade effects, with paid items clearly distinguished. Covers Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival.

Weapons, upgrade slots and acquisition for the release build of 8 October 2026. Combat technique is on the combat page and recipe prices are on the crafting page.

Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival splits its arsenal into melee weapons, firearms and the special abilities that come from the Genesis Configuration. Every weapon has five upgrade slots, and the game contains more upgrades than slots, so you are choosing a build rather than completing a list.

Coins cannot be farmed and the shop cannot be bought out, so upgrades and firearms compete for the same budget. Five firearms count as trophy collectibles, which is a separate reason to pick them up.

The three weapon categories

The publisher describes the arsenal as gruesome melee weapons, ranged weapons and special abilities using the Genesis Configuration. The first two share your inventory and your upgrade resources; the third draws on the Suffering meter instead.

Melee
Durability-based, repairable, knife never breaks
Firearms
Finite ammunition, five count as collectibles
Box abilities
Suffering-powered, covered on the box page
Upgrade slots
Five per weapon

How upgrades work

Upgrades come from two places: Zora’s shop and pickups in the world. To fit one, open your inventory, choose the upgrade, choose the weapon and confirm. The slot cap means an upgrade fitted to one weapon cannot also be fitted to another.

  1. Find the upgrade

Buy it from Zora or pick it up in the environment.

  2. Open your inventory

Select the upgrade from the list of items you hold.

  3. Choose the weapon

Pick which of your weapons receives the upgrade.

  4. Confirm the fit

The upgrade occupies one of that weapon’s five slots.

Mutually exclusive fits: some upgrades conflict. The SMG’s Laser Pointer and Drum Magazine cannot be enabled at the same time, so you have to pick one.

What to upgrade first

Guide consensus is to spend the first upgrade budget on the pistol once the medkit recipe is bought. The pistol is the weapon you always have ammunition for, so its improvements apply to nearly every fight.

When the SMG upgrades come up, the Laser Pointer is the more valuable of the conflicting pair: the Drum Magazine raises capacity from 31 to 48 rounds, but the laser improves accuracy in the fights where ammunition is short. The Laser Pointer sits in the room that requires the snake key, reached after the first time you deliver a heart to Sunny and take the elevator to the new club.

Because coins cannot be farmed, you cannot buy every shop item. Weapon upgrade prices and the shop stages are on the crafting page.

Melee durability and repair kits

Most melee weapons lose durability with each hit and eventually break. Repair kits restore durability, and the kit tiers return different amounts, so a basic kit is a partial fix rather than a full repair.

The knife you pick up early never degrades and is the only melee weapon with that property, which makes it the reliable fallback and the stealth-kill tool. Durability management in a fight is described on the combat guide.

The five firearms

Five firearms are trophy-relevant collectibles. Missing one costs you the completion set, and because the game has no chapter select, a missed firearm means a fresh run rather than a revisit.

The collectible sets and their conditions are listed on the achievements page, and the route order that keeps them all reachable is on the story walkthrough.

Deluxe weapons and skins

The Deluxe edition adds a melee weapon, the Nailer, which arrives through Zora’s shop the first time you meet her rather than appearing in your inventory directly. Skins equip automatically when you pick up the matching weapon and can be swapped in the inventory screen where you inspect weapons.

Confirming the entitlement and finding the extras is covered on the Deluxe content access page, and the edition contents are compared on the editions page.

Frequently asked questions

How many upgrades can a weapon hold?

Five. Because the game contains more upgrades than slots, you have to choose which ones to fit.

Which weapon should I upgrade first?

The pistol, once you have bought the medkit recipe. It is the weapon you will always have ammunition for.

Can I use every upgrade on one weapon?

No. Some upgrades conflict, such as the SMG’s Laser Pointer and Drum Magazine, which cannot be enabled at the same time.

Which melee weapon never breaks?

The knife you pick up early in the game. Every other melee weapon loses durability and needs repair kits.
